Mthokozisi Ndaba: Update On Assault Charges Against Idols Runner-up

The assault charges against Idols SA runner-up Mthokozisi Ndaba were provisionally withdrawn at the Hillbrow Magistrate Court in Johannesburg on Monday morning.
The court refused to put him on trial for allegedly assaulting a 21-year-old woman identified as Neo Tsele, citing lack of evidence. The 24-year-old singer appeared in court after being arrested by police on Thursday night on suspicion of assaulting the aforementioned woman in a flat in Braamfontein.
Subsequently, the case was provisionally dropped, but would result in Mthokozisi’s prosecution if sufficient evidence comes to light.
Lawyer James Ndebele who represented the Idols season 13 runner-up said the senior prosecutor decided to provisionally withdraw the charges against Ndaba because they “do not have sufficient evidence at their disposal to proceed”.
According to Ndebele the state should investigate more and make a final decision. Notwithstanding, he does not see any prosecution happening in the future as far as the case is concerned.

“With my 15 years’ experience, it is highly unlikely that they will come back and prosecute. We are confident that if the state had prospects of proceeding, they would have done so today,” Ndebele said.
KwaMashu singer Mthokozisi Ndaba was engulfed in controversy shortly after he stormed off stage after Paxton Fielies (17) was announced as the winner of the 13th season of the reality singing show on Mzansi Magic and refused to attend the post-show press conference.
Afterwards, he stayed back in Johannesburg and received help from medical professionals. While he was still trying to come to terms with the situation, another one popped up. On Saturday, 25 November a charge of assault was laid against him by the aforementioned woman who posted graphic photos of her battered and bruised face on social media and accused Mthokozisi Ndaba of hitting and slamming her against a wall during the assault.
Unfazed by all the allegations, Mthokozisi is eager to get back to his music and thanks his fans for all the support.
